  • What is NCS4?
    • The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4), at the University of Southern Mississippi was founded in 2006 and is the country’s first academic center dedicated to spectator sports safety and security research, professional development, training and outreach. It is a critical resource for sport venue managers, event managers, first responders, and other key stakeholders.NCS4 collaborates with professional leagues, open access events, intercollegiate and interscholastic athletics, along with professional associations, private sector firms, and government agencies.   • What is the Certified Sport Venue Staff (CSVS) certification?
    • The Certified Sport Venue Staff (CSVS) certification is a two-part credential composed of a training certificate coupled with a background screening component. Targeted roles include: Ushers, Ticket Takers, Gate Security, Concessions Staff, Retail Associates, Parking Attendants, Guest Services Representatives, and Cleaning Attendants.The training program is designed so that each member of the event team will learn basic responsibilities, such as the importance of communication and observations; how to identify, assess and evaluate safety and security risks; implementing emergency plans; and key techniques for problem-solving and conflict resolution.
  • Who can participate in the CSVS certification?
    • The CSVS certification was designed by industry leading experts for both organizations who have front line staff, and for individuals seeking CSVS certification prior to employment.
  • How does this service work?
    • Organizations and individuals can sign-up to participate in the CSVS program by completing the registration form. Organizations sign-up to become subscribers and login to administer training assignments and background screening for employees. Individuals enroll through NCS4 and are assigned a user name and password to access training and view background check results.As part of the CSVS certification program, participants are required to complete the following:
      1. Personnel Screening-Background Checks
      2. Compliance Awareness- Training & Testing
      3. Credentialing- Certificate of Completion
      4. Scheduled Compliance Audits/Renewals
  • Does the CSVS program requires any special software or equipment?
    • No. The CSVS program is a web-based system that is secure and accessible from any PC with a username and password. No additional software or equipment is required to utilize the system.
  • How much does this service cost?
    • The cost is $36 per person which includes both training and a background check.Additional FeeIn July of 2003, the state of NY changed their policy on reporting felony and/or misdemeanor record information. For certain counties, there is no longer a county seat available that reports felony or misdemeanor records. All information is forwarded to the state level.A NY statewide search is $75.00; however, all NCS4 clients are given a $10.00 discount to automatically order the NY statewide if applicable. As a part of the CSVS program, the NY statewide is required if any of the addresses yielded per employee turn up in the specified restricted counties. Each client is notified of the NY surcharge during the account setup process.
  • Why am I required to complete a Customer Profile?
    • This information allows us to verify your business and protect against organizations that might try to fraudulently gain access to private information as well as your facilities and worksites.
  • How do I submit my Customer Profile?
    • Simply CLICK HERE to begin the Subscription Request Process and follow the instructions provided. You will be presented with a Customer Profile which must be completed and submitted online.You will also be presented with a NCS4 Subscriber Agreement which you must download, print and sign. Signed Subscriber Agreements should be faxed to e-VERIFILE at: (770)859-0717Your request will not be processed without a signed Subscriber Agreement so please remember to print, sign and fax the required Subscriber Agreement to complete the registration process.

Enterprises: Sports/Venue and Special Events organizations, Associations & Companies

  • What is an Enterprise?
    • Enterprise subscribers are sports leagues (professional, collegiate and amateur), exhibition and venue management organizations, staffing companies and related trade associations and businesses that utilize this system to facilitate routine administrative tasks involving their internal workforce or external resources (contractors, sub-contractors, vendors and etc.).Enterprise subscribers have full access to all Resources that are associated with their account. They have the capability and authority to manage all Resources associated with their Enterprise account.
  • How do I get started?
    • Enterprises that seek to augment their workforce, resource and compliance activities, subscribe to NCS4 program to establish an account. Once an account has been established, the Enterprise Subscriber logs in to enter their own employees into the system. Your unique dashboard will show you all of the candidates you have submitted and what is outstanding for them to complete the certification process.
  • How long does this take to get set up?
    • Typically, users can be set up on the system within 72 hrs.
  • Can I have separate users if I have multiple locations?
    • Yes, for your convenience our system can allow you to have several users and they can access the system from different locations. Simply log in and click MY ACCOUNT, select the PREFERENCES button and follow the instructions provided.

Resources: Contractors, Sub-Contractors, Suppliers & Vendors

  • What is a resource?
    • Resource Subscribers are contractors, sub-contractors, vendors, suppliers, or any other external group who are required to participate in the CSVS program. Resources are assigned an Enterprise account when they sign up for the CSVS program.
  • How do I get started?
    • You will need to become a CSVS subscriber by completing the Subscription Request Process. This involves completion of a Customer Profile and NCS4 Subscriber Agreement. Please CLICK HERE begin the Subscription Request Process.Once an account has been established, Resource Subscribers login and Register with their clients who maintain compliance programs on this system.
  • How do I register as a Resource Subscriber?
    • Each Enterprise maintains a pre-qualifying registration process that must be completed by Resources that seek to participate in the CSVS program. Resources begin this process during their initial subscription process or, if they already have a subscription, they can log into the system, click Sign Up.The system will notify the Resource via e-mail if they have been granted permission to register. The ACCOUNT: REQUIRES ACTION queue will also indicate if there are any additional requirements/fees associated with their registration. If so, the Resource must complete and submit all additional requirements for registration in the system. 

Examples of what may be required for registration are as follows:
      • Completion of Procurement forms/documentation
      • License Verifications
      • Confirmation of Certificate of Insurance (COI)

      All requirements must be completed and submitted for approval. If approved, the subscriber is considered to be “registered” with that organization. Once registered with an Enterprise, the Resource can request CLEARANCE to access/assign programs that are administered by that Enterprise.

      PLEASE NOTE: All organizations are required to be registered, and approved by an Enterprise before they will be allowed to participate in the CSVS Program.

  • Can I register with an Enterprise if I don’t have a Registration ID?
    • Yes. You may request registration with an Enterprise without entering a Registration ID but you must first obtain permission from that Enterprise before being allowed to continue the registration process. Simply register without entering a Registration ID. This will forward your request to the Enterprise, which will decide whether or not to grant you permission to complete the registration process.PLEASE NOTE: A decision to grant permission to register and registration approval are rendered solely at the discretion of each organization with ion associated with the compliance program(s) in which you seek to enroll.
  • Can I have separate users and billing if I have multiple locations?
    • Yes, for your convenience, our system can allow you to have several users and they can access the system for different locations.
  • Can I use this system for other employees besides those that work in the Spectator Sports, Exhibition and Venue management industry?
    • Yes, once you become a subscriber you simply log-in, select the WORKFORCE action tab and follow the instructions provided.

Employees: Resource Personnel, Individuals & Volunteers

  • How do I get started?
    • You will need to create a personnel account by completing the CSVS individual registration. This involves completion of a Customer Profile and NCS4 Subscriber Agreement.

  • How are applicants/employees denied or approved?
    • Each organization that maintains Program(s) on this system has their own criteria for granting or denying access to Personnel. This information is available to subscribers who login and select the COMPLIANCE Action Tab.
  • What if I am “DENIED” by an organization on this system?
    • Each organization on this system maintains their own criteria for granting or denying access to their facilities. The NCS4 maintains a standard appeals process for Personnel who have been denied access via the system.
  • How do I print my certificate?
    • Certificates will populate after the applicant has cleared all background screening, training and testing modules. Once this is completed, your certificates will be ready in the system to print and/or review.
